Always look for this feature, as surge protectors often wind up sitting under a desk for years. When it stops functioning as a surge protector, why would you want it to continue functioning as a passthrough power strip? There's no more protection. This line of Tripp Lite surge protectors function properly, and STOP working when it can no longer function as a surge protector.
